EXCLUDED ITEMS
Notice for all materials:
When disposing of materials at JGI you are acknowledging your acceptance of the JGI terms and conditions of trade upon receival of your weighbridge ticket. You are therefore acknowledging that you are not disposing of excluded items and you understand the category classification system and all associated charges.
Regulated Wastes/Contaminated Materials/EMR sites.
Material not accepted. JGI does not permit any, regulated wastes, contaminated materials, or any materials originating from an EMR site. Loads believed to contain regulated waste, contaminated materials, or originating from an EMR site will be immediately quarantined for investigation. If the investigation identifies that the materials disposed contain a regulated waste, contaminated material, or originate from an EMR site then the client will be liable for all costs, including but not limited to all consequential and indirect costs, associated quarantine, investigation, reload, offsite disposal, site remediation, and any associated reporting requirement costs. Contaminated materials include any asbestos, hydrocarbons, heavy metals, pesticides, ….
Friable Material
Material not accepted. JGI do not permit any friable material such as gyprock, fibro sheeting, hardiplank, bonded cement pipes, FRC pipe etc. Loads with these materials will be subject to a reload fee. If not reloaded within 24 hours these materials will be disposed of offsite with a fee charged.
Loads with Rubbish greater than 2%
Material not accepted. JGI do not permit any materials containing nonputrescible rubbish exceeding 2% visually i.e. > 200cm2 per 1m2. Loads with excessive rubbish will be subject to a reload fee. If not reloaded within 24 hours these material will be disposed of offsite with a fee charged.
EXTRA/OVER Surcharges
A charge applies for each of these extra overs that are applicable.
Wet: Any material classification with excess moisture content that would deem the earthern material within the load as being not suitable for compaction. This is identified via muddy hands when handling the material.
Non spadable: Any material classification that will not hold a standard angle of repose. This is identified via visible water on top of the load and/or the load shifts within the vehicle under braking/acceleration and/or the material slumps to > twice the width of vehicle when dumped. All vehicles transporting non spadable materials must ensure suitable load restraints are in place (eg double locking, mud locks) and vehicles found in breach will be banned.
No report: All Earthern category materials must have a soil report that identifies where the material is originating from, what the soil classification is, and that the material does not contain PASS/AASS. Without a report provided and approved by JGI prior to delivery to site, a no report extra over charge will apply for JGI to conduct the necessary compliance work. This is generally covered by an acid sulphate soil assessment report and or geotechnical report identifying the material is above or outside relevant ASS mapped areas and that lime addition is not required.
Deleterious: Any material classification containing non-putrescible rubbish or small organics up to a maximum of 2% visually, (i.e. 200cm2 per 1m2). Loads containing greater than 2% not accepted and will be subject to a reload fee. All Earthern category materials containing recyclable materials such as concrete, brick, asphalt or greenwaste will be deemed as deleterious.
Unsuitable: Any Earthern classification not suitable for reuse e.g CBR <3, or contains a mixture of soils/subsoils/fill, or that contain small sized organics will be deemed as unsuitbale.
Overloaded Vehicle: Any overloaded vehicles will be charged an extra over on a per tonne basis up to 15% over the GML. Beyond 15% overweight an additional extra over will apply for the supervision of the tipping process.
EARTHERN MATERIAL CATEGORIES
Note:
Materials within the earthworks category must have approval by JGI prior to delivery to site or will incur a “no report” EXTRA/OVER Surcharge.
Fill: Clean VENM (Virgin Excavated Natural Material). A soil report must be provided prior to delivery to site or the “no report” EXTRA/OVER Surcharge will apply.
Clean Sand: Sand free of any organics, foreign materials, and with a low silt/clay content
Dirty Sand: Sand with minor amounts of organics, foreign materials, and/or with a higher silt/clay content.
Potential Acid Sulfate Soil (PASS): Clean VENM material that has been identified as having a PhFox<3 within the soil report process and therefore identified as requiring lime addition. Materials are subject to onsite pH inspection to confirm materials have not been oxidised.
Actual Acid Sulfate Soil (AASS): Clean PASS material that has previously been oxidised and is identified as having a Ph <4 within the soil report process and therefore requires lime addition.
JGI only accept AASS by prior agreement and with written approval
RECYCLING CATEGORIES
Clean Topsoil: Topsoil with no organics, subsoils, rock, or clay.
Dirty Topsoil: Topsoil with incidental amounts of small organics, subsoil, clay, or rock.
Clean Green Waste: Green Waste material free from dirt, or foreign materials. Only natural materials can be accepted i.e. commercial timbers are not accepted.
Dirty Green waste: Green Waste material free from any foreign materials with soil only. Only natural materials can be accepted i.e. commercial timbers are not accepted.
Clean Concrete/Brick/Asphalt: Any combination of concrete, bricks, or asphalt with less than 20% dirt.
Dirty Concrete/Brick/Asphalt: Any combination of concrete, bricks, or asphalt with more than 20% dirt but less than 50%
Inert: Any combination of concrete, bricks, or asphalt with more than 50% dirt.
Clean Rock: Rock unsized (0 – 600mm) containing less than 20% earthen material.
Dirty Rock: Rock unsized containing more than 20% earthen material. This category includes rocky shales.
